There’s something I realized today:
You and I could never be.
We could never share the same space
We could never be in the same time
You and I float like the wind
Over the island’s paradise.
You and I could never be shored
We could never harbor ourselves.
We could never be one’s to tell
Because availability was scarce
And emotions were thin.
You and I couldn’t read the same words
And mouth the same thoughts together
We were the farthest from lovers
We were the closest to acquaintances.
Occupying the same place
For a while too long
For a time too short.
Because indifference was too strong.
And so the love never begun.
